Our projects
Bee-friendly Biodiversity Habitats
Small, dense patches of native flowering plants that help pollinators and farms thrive.
The project concept
We aim to encourage farmers and village communities to establish approximately 1,000 square feet of bee-friendly habitat using native Indian flowering trees, shrubs and plants.
These small biodiversity patches can provide additional floral resources, shelter and ecological connectivity for honeybees and other pollinators. Locally suitable planting is central to the approach: a healthy habitat should support bees through different flowering seasons.
Areas of focus
- Native Indian flowering trees, shrubs and plants
- Locally suitable, diverse planting
- Continuous floral resources and shelter
- Farmer-led care and community participation
